DJ BIG Mac (Aka Scott McNeal) was raised in Newark, NJ. He had an early appreciation for music because of the love of music his family provided. His parents would have small parties, always playing R&B, jazz and Latin music. At an early age Big Mac played the piano, bass, trumpet, guitar and percussion. His musical education at the Newark Boys Chorus School made another music mark in his appreciation for music.
He has danced to Disco, Club Music and House. Big Mac experienced the underground movement of New Jersey and New York sound in its heyday. The Djays who played the music from this era burned into his soul “the foundation”. That foundation came from various clubs back in the day (Paradise Garage, Zanzibar, Buttermilk Bottom, The Clubhouse in DC, El Castile, New Experience, Cosmos, Club 88, Doops, The Showcase, Lajocks, Docks and Club America) to name a few.
You can experience his set on Fridays at 12:00 midnight EST. BIG MAC currently broadcasts live from Tucson, AZ where he is trying to bring his house sound to this area.
Big Mac played back in the late 70's early 80's but didn't do much. It wasn't until his friend DJ City Kid went to Saudi did DJ Big Mac come back into the fold. He told DJ City Kid that he would take his place until he came back from the war. The rest is history!
In his own words he says, " I want to thank Speedy and the Face the Bass crew for keeping house alive. I want to thank you (the listeners) for giving me the opportunity to express myself musically."
