DJ Motion, aka Anthony Mercer has been a DJ for 34 years. He grew up in Amityville Long Island N.Y. At a time when DJ started becoming popular. After hearing one of the top DJ’s at the time, Pete DJ Jones of Manhattan, he knew what he wanted to do.  And, after being exposed to all types of music by his older brother, such as Jazz, R & B, Funk, Rock and Roll music, he remembers his brother telling him “You really have an ear for music.“

DJ Motion interest started with early Hip-Hop and R&B, but his love has always been House/ Club music. He says “I love to see people dancing and having a good time, House music is happy music!!!”

DJ Motion has played for radio personality Ken Webb of WBLS, Donnie McClurkin, and Dr. Bob Lee also of WBLS. He also gives thanks to his brother Kenneth Mercer (RIP) for the opportunity to DJ on a professional level. And, as a professional DJ he has played for all types of functions such as, weddings and anniversaries, birthday parties, dances, and family reunions. 

Being further influenced by other DJ’s as Larry Levan, Frankie Knuckles, and Timmy Regisford, DJ Motion continued to fine tune his ear.  He has been a featured DJ on Housemasons Radio, thru Markus Rice (RIP), Nuvision Radio, and B-103FM.
