Donald Lassiter, a life long resident from the Garden State of New Jersey has been influenced by all genres of music including Gospel, Blues, R&B and Jazz.

Dating back to his childhood days, he would immerse himself listening to the sounds from his parents record collection and be inspired by tunes being played on the radio when visiting his grandparents who often listened to stations like WWRL, WNJR, WBGO and even Pop radio. As he grew up in the 70s dance music became popular and throughout the 80s he would frequent clubs in his hometown of Newark, NJ - Docks, Club Sensations, Club Zanzibar, Paradisio and Club America also Cheetahs, The Peppermint Loung, Bogies and even Club Eleganza.

Reflecting back, he states that he purchased his first records with his own money around 1978, “Karen Young's ‘Hot Shot’ and Cloud One's LP titled ‘Atmosphere Strut’ ", which remains of his personal favorite Disco records and he still collects vinyl to this day. His all-time musical idols are the great Hudie "Leadbelly" Ledbetter and Nina Simone but as a DJ his influences include Frankie Crocker, Tee Scott, Larry Levan, Timmy Regisford, Joe Claussell and New Jersey's own Kerri Chandler.
